Christmas for the birds

I start feeding the birds from November onward. I just enjoy watching the different kind of birds from the sofa in the living room and finding out which species they are. Sometimes we get a visit from a new type of bird, like last winter when we had a great spotted woodpecker on our bird feeder.

We make also make bird food ornaments out of  leftover nuts and seed, oats, dried fruit and lard or suet. Make sure you start preparing by getting bird food ordered, and the feeders set up before the snow comes. If you start feeding them, they will expect to find a regular supply of food there, so don't let them down.
