My favourite hot chocolate recipes with a twist

Grown up hot chocolate

  • 100 g good quality dark chocolate
  • 6 dl full fat milk
  • 0,5 dl cognac
  • 0,5 dl water
  • Whipped cream with a little sugar


1. Boil the water and stir the chocolate in.
2. Add the milk and heat slowly without boiling.
3. Add the cognac when you are ready to serve.

Orange hot chocolate

  • 6 dl milk
  • 1 dl whipping cream
  • 1 large organic orange
  • 100 g good quality dark chocolate
  • Pinch salt
  • Extra whipping cream with sugar to serve.

1. Wash the orange and use a peeler to remove the rind.
2. Combine the rind with the milk and cream in a caserole and bring to a simmer.
3. Remove from the heat and cover the pan with a lid.
4. Leave to sit for about 1 hour. Remove the orange rind.
5. Add the chocolate and a pinch of salt. Heat until the choolate is melted.
